Intro
on your journey of looksmaxxing and self mastery, as much as looks are the most important thing, I also believe men should be apex predators. Sure, it won’t directly increase your looks or appeal. But it matters just as much to be top of the hierarchy. The way to do that: be the strongest man physically in any room, the toughest man, and the smartest man.I’ll write a three-part thread on this. It isn’t strictly looksmaxxing; it’s status and becoming an actual leader of men. Which, obviously, matters everywhere.
If in doubt of my logic here, just read the research on how people respond to people in authority. You want to be the authority, don't be the sheep. Be the shepard!
Why learn to fight?
Why learn to fight?
First, it’s great exercise. Second, it makes your mind more resilient. Third, andmost importantly, you learn how to dominate an opponent and control a situation.
Those carry over into everything: not letting emotions stop you from doing hard work, not being intimidated by people, real confidence from real ability. You’re better prepared for bad situations (from a battlefield to walking home and getting jumped).
With these skills, you become closer to an apex predator. Fewer people can hurt you, and you know you’re someone others will naturally follow.
What fighting should I learn
I’m a big advocate for training that works in real life. Plenty of combat sports are great, but only under rules. Outside, there is only one rule. And that rule is : THERE ARE NO FUCKING RULES. Anything goes, become an agent of chaos.
So what should you sign up for?
- Krav Maga: Practical, brutal efficiency and real-world scenarios, pulling from multiple disciplines.
- Muay Thai: Devastating kicks, punches, elbows, knees, plus clinch control. A very strong striking base.
- Mixed Martial Arts (MMA): Striking + grappling together. Most fights involve clinch/ground at some point.
Striking & Grappling Combinations
- Boxing: Bare-knuckle effectiveness, distance management, and hands that carry knockout power.
- Muay Thai: As above—kicks/elbows/knees add damage at range and in the clinch.
- Judo / Wrestling / BJJ: Entries, takedowns/throws, control, pins, submissions, and stand-ups—vital for deciding where the fight happens.
Conclusions
On the path to the top 1% of men, you should be able to defend yourself, protect your people, and assert yourself.Fighting trains skills, body, and mind. It’s an absolute must in a serious self-improvement journey.
Hope this pushes you to go learn something new.
