Discussion My sense of self shouldn’t be tied to the face on my body

My sense of self has been tied to my face for a very long time. I feel as it’s my own ego accusing me of being ugly. But why. My face will change my body will sag. So what is the point of trying to make it different. My ego and face is a false self of self. I do not want to be tied to my face but my soul. My own face has to much power over me. It’s as if my face owns me but it’s not like that I own it. My face is temporary my soul is forever.

i get why you focus on the idea of a soul it feels more stable when your appearance feels out of your control

but you dont really have to split it into soul vs face

your face is just part of you not something that owns you

and you are still 14 right? your features and overall look are still developing a lot

so judging yourself like this or deciding you are done doesnt really make sense at this stage

what you look like now isnt a final version

it changes with time and how you present yourself matters a lot too

so instead of trying to detach from your appearance completely its more accurate to just see it as something still forming

you dont have to like how you look right now but its too early to treat it like its permanent
