So you want to know whether you should look into rhinoplasty? Or maybe you just want to know if your nose is a failo or not. Either way it is a smart idea to figure this out, and this thread will aim to help answer your questions about your nose.
So the first thing we should ask ourselves is this, what actually makes an ideal nose?
Ideal nose
Your nose is one of those features that can either make or break a face. As seen in cases below a good nose job could really ascend somebody with an ugly nose.

So what actually makes a nose good versus unattractive? What are the key factors?
To answer that you should see what you are working with, in a way that is unbiased.
You should take a photo in neutral , ideally outdoors lighting, of your face front on. This should result in an accurate image of how you really look!
Now most obvious and easily noticeable thing to check is whether you have a deviated septum, this is where your nose is crooked compared to a vertical line running down your face (from brow ridge to chin) as seen below.

If you do have a deviated septum, you’ll find this affects your overall harmony and symmetry so much that a septoplasty and/or likely a rhinoplasty with the septum being straightened will be necessary to fix this imperfection.
As discussed in our ideal facial ratios guide, you should see that a good width for your nose would be around ⅕ of the face.

if it is wider than this your primary concern should be to slim the nose front profile as it will look large, bulbous and unsightly.
For this analysis of your nose, you should take side profile photos in the same lighting as before.
You will also need an app or software for measuring angles in a photo. There are many such apps for this so I won’t go into unnecessary details. Just use your brain!
There are a few angles that are particularly important when we look at the nose from the side.
The ideal aesthetic ratios should be the nasofrontal angle which ideally is 120°-140° measured from the straight line between the glabella and sellion and the tip of your nose.

The nasolabial angle, which should be 90°-110°. This is measured from the tip of your nose to soft tissue of the side profile of your philtrum. And then from that point on the philtrum to the side profile of the top of your lip .
And the nasalmental angle which should be around 120 - 132° ideally. Measured from the sellion to the nose tip and from the nose tip to the outermost point on your chin.

If your nose has so far fallen into the ideal angle ranges, isn’t wider than the ideal, and isn’t deviated; it is unlikely you need to do anything .
With that said, however, the rule of thumb is if your nose is significantly different to the “ski slope” or straight nose shapes, and you get people comment on your nose size when asking for ratings, that would tell me you are definitely losing easy looks points to your nose.
But this thread ends on a good note! Don’t worry, rhinoplasty is one of the most affordable, widely available ,and safe procedures to looksmax.
So to end this thread I wanted to provide you with some life fuel for nosecels, some amazing rhinoplasty transformations to show you that if this is one of your failos, it’s just as treatable as the common cold in today’s modern age!
