Introduction
Hello and welcome to the ultimate guide in 2025 with experimental and of course the current methods of increasing skin collagen synthesis to impove skin quality and reduce aging.
If you are not familiar with the importance of collagen and the role it plays in the skin and how it improves skin quality I refer you to these resources to gain a high level understanding of it's importance to you skin health, before going any further in this meta analysis!
The Editors of Encyclopaedia Britannica. "collagen." Encyclopedia Britannica, August 23, 2025. https://www.britannica.com/science/collagen.
Goud, Santhosh. (2024). Collagen and Aging: A Scientific Perspective.

Abstract

Hopefully we have a mutual understandaing on why collagen is essential to high quality skin, anti aging in the skin and potentially futher youthful aging in other areas of the body where collagen plays a role to maintain structural integrity.

This metaanalysis will go over several methods we highly reccomend, and other methods deemed efficient.
We will also have a follow up thread in 12 months time regarding research on our own small sample research which you too can participate in if you would like to contribute to research by getting in touch with @Administrator directly.

Without further a do, we will start with tried and tested methods.

Tried and tested methods.
Since there are plenty of different supplements and methods we will aim to keep each point concise, with the compounds name, citations to relevant literature and a rating out of 10 for our reccomendations.
  1. Tretinoin: Griffiths CE, Russman AN, Majmudar G, Singer RS, Hamilton TA, Voorhees JJ. Restoration of collagen formation in photodamaged human skin by tretinoin (retinoic acid). N Engl J Med. 1993 Aug 19;329(8):530-5. doi: 10.1056/NEJM199308193290803. PMID: 8336752. 7/10 (reason we rate this a 7 is the following, though it can increase skin quality and collagen, it also has a purging phas, and increases photosensitivity. Which to the authors of this analysis is subideal for lookmaxxing)
  2. Retinol: Kong R, Cui Y, Fisher GJ, Wang X, Chen Y, Schneider LM, Majmudar G. A comparative study of the effects of retinol and retinoic acid on histological, molecular, and clinical properties of human skin. J Cosmet Dermatol. 2016 Mar;15(1):49-57. doi: 10.1111/jocd.12193. Epub 2015 Nov 18. PMID: 26578346. 8/10 (similar rating to tretinoin, they are of the retinoid class. However since it is actually less strong than tretinoin we found less purgin and agressive affects on the skin while giving good results aesthetically)
  3. Dietary and lifestyle : We find little need to provide any research to the following as it is mainly common sense. High sugar and carb diets decrease collagen so we advise limiting in diet, vitamin C is essential to collagen synthesis so take plenty in your diet, and smoking, drinking and excessive UV exposure is all harmful. We reccomend being mindful of this when making any lifestyle decisions if you care about your looks.
  4. GHK-CU: https://doi.org/10.1111/jocd.15763: 9/10 (one of our favourites, incredibly efficient, affordable and easy to apply.)
  5. Matrixyl 3000: https://doi.org/10.1111/jocd.15849: 10/10 (cheap, effective and none intrusive to our daily routine, we reccomend adding this into any skincare routine you run daily )
  6. CJC-1295 DAC : although this is more anecdotal since the peptide has the following effects:

    1. Sustained increase in groth hormone and IGF-q levels
    2. Reduce visceral adipose tissue
    3. Reducing total cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood
    4. Increased muscle mass
because of the increase in IGF-1 and HGH this will also increase collagen synthesis, we are yet to try this but will be trying it in our research moving forward!
7.
IGF-1 LR3: similarly to the above we are yet to try this, but IGF-1 is known to have anti aging and restoriative effects. The mechanism by which IGF-1 promotes skin health involves several cellular processes. When skin is injured, IGF-1 stimulates the proliferation of keratinocytes, the primary cells in the epidermis, and fibroblasts, the cells responsible for producing collagen and other extracellular matrix components. This increased cell proliferation and matrix production help repair the damaged skin and restore its structural integrity. Additionally, IGF-1 enhances the migration of these cells to the wound site, further accelerating the healing process (Zhang et al., 2024).
Studies have shown that IGF-1 can also protect the skin from the effects of aging. By promoting collagen synthesis and reducing the breakdown of collagen fibers, IGF-1 helps maintain skin elasticity and firmness. This anti-aging effect is particularly important for preventing the formation of wrinkles and maintaining a smooth, youthful complexion. Furthermore, IGF-1 has been found to reduce inflammation in the skin, which can help prevent chronic skin conditions and improve overall skin health (Muraguchi et al., 2019).

we again will be trying this and updating in 12 months.

Conclusions

Hopefully this was interesting for you guys, we will be exploring more as we discover them and adding them to this thread as and when we trial and update with results for you!
