80s movies like breakfast club, sixteen candles, ferris bueller, etc. and I like them cuz something abt them just feels nostalgic to me, it's also where most of my humor comes from
ill have to check some of em out
Neon Genesis Evangelion does a really good job at imo using the characters as vessels for conveying mental issues/struggles many deal with lowk esp in this com (I'd be a mix of asuka n shinji) + main themes are about escapism/human connection which I found personally relevant
BTW the hospital scene was important and furthered the plot and theme by highlighting the absolute lengths people go to out of desperation for some sort of human connection and his inability to properly navigate and express his feelings due to his childhood trauma and neglect and it should not be reduced to "haha he jorkin it"
